Construction Industry Finds Relief in Tracking Compliance with Contractor Data Management System (CDMS)
Businesses Using CDMS Get Compliant, Organized, and Efficient Complete details, benefits, and screenshots
A New York contractor training facility and creative agency have teamed up to build a web-based application for construction businesses. Along with many other features, the CDMS allows tracking and reporting on employee information, posting company-wide alerts and notices, and uploading important field documents. Businesses can record medical information, training compliance, and work history.
Rochester, NY (PRWEB) June 16, 2009 – The Contractor Data Management System (CDMS) will be released in July 2009 by Cornerstone Training Institute and IC9design, two New York based companies.
The CDMS provides the necessary tools and functions for organizing a construction business’ employee records, critical reminders, and company-wide alerts. It is available both on the job site through mobile devices (Phones and PDA’s with internet access) and from any computer with an internet connection.
"Let’s say your employee falls on the job site. With the CDMS you have immediate access to the last time that employee took safety training and when the harness they were wearing was last inspected." said Darren Yehl, owner of Cornerstone Training Institute. "This application provides immediate information about each employee – even their medical history; allergies, health conditions, or work related concerns."
Customizing and adding new categories for record keeping is one of the main highlights of the CDMS. For example, an administrator can create a “Respirator” category to track fit tests, training frequency, and respirator make and model. If employees handle asbestos, a detail in the medical category can be created to record the pre-employment asbestos physical. Equipment tracking and handling can also be added.
The power of the system is in its flexibility. "When we set out to build this app Darren and I knew it had to relate to individual business needs. We didn’t want to rush it. So we spent time talking to the construction community to understand their real needs. With a number of revisions and critiques, we were able to get the app into a flexible state. This allowed us to build the type of recording needs the construction industry was asking for." said Ian Caspersson, owner and creative director of IC9design.
